Tax Information
As independent contractors, freelancers
are required to pay their own taxes. WT Editorial is required to report
earnings of $600 or more to the IRS unless the independent contractor
is incorporated. Independent contractors who are paid $600 or more
during a tax year and who are NOT incorporated can expect to receive a
1099-misc form from WT Editorial by the end of January for the
preceding tax year.
All independent contractors must furnish WT Editorial with a signed W9
form. Please download a W9 form, complete and sign the form, and then
return it to WT Editorial by mail. (Note: WT Editorial
does not recommend sending completed W9 forms via email because emails
are not encrypted and the form contains either an SSN or TIN.)
